Cultural Context

 

In this Magazine cover there is traditional gender culture represented, this is evidently represented through the pink text over the pink flowers. The mass of pink flowers almost fills the front cover but masked by them is a woman. This high usage of pink strongly emphasises the amount of femininity as culturally, Pink is associated with women and Blue is associated with Men. 

In addition to this the woman is in the background of the photo, cast behind flowers and the text. This could link to women being traditionally and historically through culture "inferior" to men.
