Shot Types


Long Shot - Long-shots can be used to give an idea of the whole character or item, additionally it can be used to emphasise the distance of the scene, or size of the character or item.




Medium Shot - The medium shot is useful for showing some of the emotion and detail of the character or item but additionally useful for showing some of the scene too, it helps set the scene more than a close up.




Close Up Shot - The close up shots allow the photographer to centre the focus on the detail or emotion of the shot

  1. Hi Jamie Nice pictures! However, they are all Long Shots. YOu need a shot of a person from the waist up for a medium shot and a close up would be eg just one of the horses faces. Have another go!
