Research Mass market audience that expects to be emotionally engaged
As most real life story magazine's that are targeted at men are niche, for instance fishing, railway, classic cars etc with real life story's being inside the magazine, whereas real life stories that are targeted at Women are very similar, they consist primarily of motherly issues (raising kids, living on a budget) and also health, fitness and baking (food). It is hard to find unisex real life story magazines as well as finding magazines for teenage boys. I believe that my idea would target the youth of society with issues they are passionate or angry about (political correctness)
Research Audience Segments
16-18: This age group are likely to have just completed school or are still in some form of full time education, 86.4% of this age group are in full time education, this means if they had a source of income it is likely to be from a weekend/ part time job so it will be minimal pay. This means they are learning how to save/spend money and are likely to not want to spend a lot of money on a magazine so the pricing will need to be low especially when younger adults are the target for a magazine about political correctness.
21-25: this age group will have started to work in the outside world, with entitlement to more money but more devotion to a job, in addition this age group might even have children or a family and they will be more concerned about economic issues over social issues like political correctness. therefore my magazine will be less concerned towards
Websites that are of the category real life story
the introduction of royals into the high contrasted modern magazine could be a technique to make the younger royals look more in tune the times than they actually are.The yellow font (convention) is an institutional convention. it is used in this institution a lot. this magazine appeals to people who are interested in the royal family, this therefore entails that British people are more likely to be interested. The feature of Katy Perry "how I got my body back" appeals to women who have experienced pregnancy and the toll it takes on the female body. also the fans of Katy who happen to be male according to her Instagram analytics through celebrity endorsement
This magazine is aimed at a specific age demographic as it features an older woman who looks healthy and well, in addition captions such as " midlife crisis or spicing things up"
This specific targeting is good and the captions show how it is done however I want my magazine to be more broad as it is a global issue
This one is more centred to my topic specifically and after doing some research there is a gap in the market for a magazine specified on the damage petrol and diesel cars are doing and what can be done to solve this.
It uses a simplistic colour scheme "monochrome" black grey and white. this combination allows more seriousness but also emphasises the green earth and the damage that is being done to it. In addition Time magazines signature red borders are on display this is a common convention that is associated with Time magazine.
The subheading "the pandemic can lead us to a better greener world" is very valid and relevant to what I'm looking into, in addition the pandemic can be viewed as a window into a cleaner world, as there was less transport and trade, the general pollution around the world dipped

Future Proof
The magazine is going to be environmentally themed, about changing peoples believes and mindsets a good slogan/selling point will be "GRASP IT". It is a small but loud phrase with simplicity but yet so much meaning.
The main themes around the magazine are going to be the progressiveness of the motoring world into an electric era, different opinions and feelings around this.
Battery electric vehicle (BEV), which are also referred to as a pure electric vehicle, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).

· VOLVO TO BE AL ELECTRIC BY 2030 - It will
phase out all car models with internal combustion engines by then, including
hybrids. The carmaker is also planning to invest heavily in online sales and
simplifying its products. It is trying to capitalise on growing demand for
electric cars, including in China, which is already one of its biggest markets.
Idea for Course Work
Brief 3 ideas
It would be centred around the 60s to 70s periodThe magazine would mainly consist of the original prices of the cars which are put into todays money and then the actual value today.
The text of the main title/ name of the magazine would be consistent across the magazine as well as allowing for changes in the size of the title.
The stories on the front page will be in a more dominant font. This will keep the magazine easy to
read as wells as having stand out titles on the pages.
The original sweater, as worn by series heroine Sarah Lund, was chosen by actress Sofie Gråbøl, as she explains in an interview with "The Guardian" "We had a costume meeting and I saw that sweater and thought: 'That's it!'," she says, despite the jumper being decidedly unpoliced-like.
"The reason it's so perfect is because it tells so many stories. It tells of a person who doesn't use her sexuality – that's a big point. Lund's so sure of herself she doesn't have to wear a suit. She's at peace with herself."
Stranger things uses a variety of ideologies from 1980s Including Spielbergian. There is a large amount of weaponized intertextuality throughout the Series.
E.T
There are many similarities between Stranger Things and ET, for instance both families of the main character are structured in a similar way, for instance both families are structured in a similar, a single mother trying to make ends meet and 2 sons one older than the other. Additionally there are many Spielbergian scenes and ideologies that are represented in Stranger Things, for instance; the use of bicycles to escape a secretive Government Agency that is hunting them down. Also Eleven (EL) resembles ET, for instance they are both being hidden away from society, in addition they have 'Magical Powers' this can be seen in scenes where they are both being hunted down on bicycles by Government Agents in vans, then ET causes the bikes to fly, whereas EL causes the van to flip over and land on its roof, this is more violent and would possibly not have been appreciated in a PG rated movie or TV show in the 1980s. Ultimately though the Adults are in a Spielbergian Universe
The Shining
Stranger Things additionally takes much influence from Stephen King, this scene of Joyce wielding an axe is strikingly similar to the Shining, in addition the Teens in Stranger Things are in a more Stephen King Universe.
Stand by me
Stand by me is also from the Kids perspective, similar to Stranger Things. There are many links between the two parties as they both go on adventures.
